Memorial services for Larry Gene Russell are 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive). Rev. Tommy Purvis will be officiating the services. 

Mr. Russell, 69, died Monday, May 23, 2016, at St. Joseph Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on April 4, 1947, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to Vernon Russell and Sarah Inez Williams Russell. He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks, working in his yard and visiting and spending time with his friends. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Evonne Russell of Louisiana; daughters, Lana Russell Swarts and Rhonda Rose Lambert, both of Brookhaven; step-son, Douglas McCarty of Brookhaven; six grandchildren, Carlie Brooke and husband, Nathan Williams, Andrew Glenn Rose, Charles “Chas” Acy, Caleigh Elizabeth Acy, Savanna Kate Swarts and Brianna Rae Swarts; two great-grandchildren, Braxton James Huckaby and Rylie Brooke Williams; two nephews, Jason and Wesley Gill; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
