Mr. Irving Easterling and Mrs. Susan Easterling, of Wesson, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Summer Dawn Easterling to Jonathan Paul Burns.

He is the son of Mrs. Jodi Moore Newland of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and the late Mr. Daniel Burns of Bogue Chitto.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. Paul Townsend and Mrs. Myrna Townsend, of Wesson, and Mrs. Peggy Easterling of Brandon and the late Mr. Herman Easterling.

He is the grandson of Mr. Samuel Moore and Mrs. Tomma Moore, of Bogue Chitto, and Mr. Don Burns and Mrs. Nancy Burns, of Brookhaven; and Mr. David Flake and Mrs. Diann Flake of Bogue Chitto. The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Wesson High School, a 2009 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College where she received an Associate of Arts degree and a 2012 graduate of Mississippi College with a Bachelor in Mathematics and a minor in education. She has previously taught at Pisgah High School and Brandon High School. This fall she will be teaching ninth-grade Algebra I at Brookhaven High School.

The prospective groom is a 2009 graduate of Enterprise High School and a 2011 graduate of Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he received an electrical technology degree. He is currently employed as an electrical technician for Williams Gas Pipeline in Tylertown.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookhaven. A reception will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto.
