Memorial services for Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt Moak Jr. are 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Visitation will be at noon until time of service Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. Moak, 74, died on July 1, 2016, at his residence. He was born on March 21, 1942, in Norfield to Theodore Roosevelt Moak Sr. and Erma Canoy Moak.

Moak was retired from the Army National guard and the United States Army, accruing 29 years of service as administrative supply technician and in other administrative positions within the command of the 155th. He was honorably discharged in September 1989.

He was awarded eight citations, medals, badges, commendations and campaign ribbons, retiring with the rank of sergeant first class. Following his military career, he completed his working years in the timber industry until his complete retirement in 2015.

Moak was a 1961 graduate of Bogue Chitto High School, a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and a member and past master of the Bogue Chitto Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Mable McNeil, of Brookhaven; sisters Peggy Moak Seago, of Bogue Chitto, and Norma Hart Morgan, of Brookhaven.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Jimmie Hawkins Moak; his son, James Frederick “Ricky” Moak and wife Peggy, of Bogue Chitto; his daughter, Leigh Anne Till and husband Larry, of Bogue Chitto; his grandchildren Jennifer Moak Cloud and husband Mitch, Trey Till, Rachel Moak and Lesley Till, all of Bogue Chitto; his brother, Roger A. Moak and wife Geraldine, of Summit; his sisters, JoAnn Thames and husband Robert, of Brookhaven, and Joyce Allred and husband Danny Ray, of Bogue Chitto; sisters-in- law, Connie Milstein, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Peggy McNeil, of Brookhaven; brother-in- law, James Hawkins and wife Adelle, of Bogue Chitto.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Blair Batson Children’s Hospital.
