Graveside services for Grace Helen Halford are 11 a.m. on July 11, 2016, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Cletus Moak and Bro. Herman Aldridge will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville and Monday, July 11, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church.
Mrs. Halford, 87, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville. She was born in Hamburg on Nov. 18, 1928 to Alex H. (Sr.) and Pearl Aldridge Bonds.
Mrs. Halford was a member of Providence Baptist Church. On July 13, 1946, she married the love of her life, Aaron T. “Bully” Halford. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family. She loved to garden, growing flowers, and to cook. She was known for her chicken and dumplings and her cathead biscuits. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; son, Larry L. “Skeeter” Halford; son-in-law, Walter Oakman; five brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors are her daughters, Alma Halford Cochran, of Pearl, Martha Halford Oakman, of Clinton, and Debbie Halford Adams and husband Randy, of Brookhaven; sons, Bud Halford, of Pearl and Johnny Halford, of Terry; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bankston Halford, of Meadville; sister, Margarette “Tiny” Temple, of Meadville; sister-in-law, Patsy Arseneau, of Natchez; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Meadville Convalescent Home and Franklin County Memorial Hospital.
The family requests that donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
