Funeral services for Joyce S. Crane, of Brookhaven, are today at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral services with burial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Riverwood.

Mrs. Crane, 89, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Silver Cross Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 22, 1926, to Thomas L. smith and Lora Hill Smith.

She was retired from Bellsouth.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Clifton T. Crane; and son-in-law, Eugene R. Smith.

Survivors are her daughter, Elaine C. Smith; sisters, Nell McKissack and Tommie Leggett and husband, R.C.; sisters-in-law, Melba Crane, Mary Crane and Betty Smith; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith and wife, Dana, Michael Smith and wife, Beth, and Shelley Lee and husband, Jeffrey; five great-grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Carly Smith, Erica Kent and husband, Colby, Melody Smith and Grant Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Memorials can be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216 or Hospice Ministries, 2297 Brookhaven St., Brookhaven, MS 39601.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Silver Cross and Hospice Ministries, who assisted in caring for Mrs. Crane.
