Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s football program has been sanctioned by the National Junior College Athletic Association to forfeit the week one 44-0 win against Mississippi Delta. The forfeiture is due to an ineligible player who participated in the game. The issue has since been resolved.

“We deeply regret this occurred, but took the appropriate action by self-reporting the error to the NJCAA immediately after it was discovered,” said a spokesman for the Co-Lin Athletic Department. “It is an unfortunate error and we fully accept the action that NJCAA has taken.”

The forfeit moves the No. 3 ranked Wolves’ record to 1-1 on the year as the team travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast to take on the Bulldogs Thursday at 7 p.m.
