Funeral services for Myrtis Virginia Greer White, of Brookhaven, are today at 11 a.m. at Wellman Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto with burial in Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Davis will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is also today from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Mrs. White, 78, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2016, at her residence in Brookhaven with her loving family by her side. She was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Lincoln County, to Seth and Nannie Bell Greer.

After graduation from Enterprise High School in Brookhaven, she worked as a telephone operator and garment inspector and later operated a dairy farm with her husband for over 40 years. The Albert White farm was voted 1993 Farm Family of the Year by the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. She was also a very active member of Wellman Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Albert Wayne White; son, Wayne White; sister, Mary Lou Rushing; and brother, Frank Greer.

Survivors are her sons, Shane White and “special adopted daughter,” Kim Richardson, of Brookhaven, and Darryl White, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandsons, Darren White and Trent White; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of Mrs. White to Wellman Baptist Church.
