Funeral services for Marion Webster Allmon were 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Union Church Presbyterian Church in Union Church with burial in the church cemetery. Dr. Joe Martin and Rev. Milton Whatley officiated the services.

Visitation was Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) and on Saturday from noon until the time of service. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Rodney Smith, Daniel Allmon, Chris Cole, Farran Smith, Bobby Higgs and Wayne Smith.

Mr. Allmon, 91, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at his residence in Union Church with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 2, 1925, in Whitewater, Missouri, to Hugh C. and Tessie L. Proffer Allmon.

He was an active member of the Masons for 70 years and was a member of the John C. Galbreath Masonic Lodge in the Pleasant Hill community. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, James W. Allmon; and son-in-law, Dr. Perry N. Duggar.

Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Virgene G. Poinsett Allmon; daughters, Carol Allmon Duggar, of Jackson, and Cindy Allmon, of Brandon; son, Tom Allmon and wife, Jodie, of Muldrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Daniel Allmon and wife, Laura, Susan Allmon Schenk and husband, John, Faith Cable and fiancé, Clayton Brister, and Jennifer Allmon Thaggard and husband, Andy; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
