Funeral services for Annie Lois Adams Hathorn Byrd were Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Rev. Fred Luter Jr. officiated. Littlejohn Funeral Home, of New Orleans, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the church and will be today, Sept. 25, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church on Zetus Road in Brookhaven where Rev. Sam Collins is pastor. Burial will follow at the church cemetery in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Byrd, 87, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Booker Holloway and Lonnie Adams; her first husband, Ernest Hathorn, and her second husband,  Artie Byrd; child, Terry Lee Byrd; step-child, Minor Lee Wilcher; grandchild, Elise Bush; son-in-law Carl Davis; siblings, Margie Rea Brumfield, Lucille Fairman, Robert Jr., RC (Maxine) and Eddie Phillips; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linton, Melvin (Elizabeth), Marzel (Modestine), Willie (Geneva), Clemon Byrd and Riley Harrington.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Voncile Byrd Johnson and Denise Byrd (Gerald) Spellman; stepchildren, Johnnie Mae Davis, Muriel (Edward) Dozier and Artie Jerome Randle; grandchildren, Pfc. Azaria K. Johnson, of Fort Lee, Virginia, Anntoria G. Spellman, Kendrick K. Boyd, John Gayton, Heavenly Davis, Nicole (Frank) McCurry, Katina Wilcher, Bryan (Jelenea) Wilcher and Montel, Janet and Hannah Randle; daughter-in-law, Bessie Wilcher; son-in-law, Cal K. Johnson; siblings, Mae Reather (Willie C.) White, Emma Rea Brimmer (James) Kitchen, Eloise (Albert) Wallace, Ruby Lee (Willie) Wright, Lonnie Jewel (Joe) Payne and James (Geraldine) Phillips; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Myrtis Brumfield, Robin Phillips, Velma Lee Phillips, Lucy Ferguson and Marie Byrd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
