A worker with the Mississippi Department of Transportation worker is facing charges after being involved in a two-vehicle accident with a juvenile.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing, Dylan Radford of Brookhaven collided with the vehicle driven by the juvenile on Oct. 5 at the intersection of Oakwood Lane and California Road.

Redford was driving an MDOT vehicle at the time of the accident.

Rushing said Radford’s leg was broken in the accident, and he was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center before being moved to a hospital in Jackson.

The juvenile driver and passengers were not injured in the accident, according to Rushing.

Rushing said Radford was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.

Toxicology reports are pending, and it is not yet clear whether or not Radford was under the influence at the time of the accident, Rushing said. Additional charges could be filed, he said.
