Bogue Chitto hoping to end season on high note

The Bobcats of Bogue Chitto will kick off their final regular-season game Friday in Springfield, Louisiana.
Neither team boasts a winning record this season, with the Bobcats at 0-10 and the Bulldogs at 0-9. Both teams are winless in region games.
Springfield has scored an average of 14.4 points per game, while Bogue Chitto has averaged 9.1 points. The Dogs have been led in total rushing and passing yards by Damariae Claiborne.
The Cats have been led by Damarcus Godbolt in rushing yards and Trey Nettles in passing.
The 2015 matchup of these two teams left Bogue Chitto smarting from a 49-14 loss. Springfield has felt the sting from other teams this year, including losses of 47-6 and 42-0 in the past few weeks.
Bogue Chitto head coach Garreth Sartin is not so much focused on a win this week as on the attitude of his players once the season is done. But a win would certainly help with that attitude.
“We want a win, to end the season on a positive note,” said Sartin, “and start building good momentum toward next season.”
With rebuilding in mind, the Bobcats hope to gain strength and consistency, and power into next season as a force to be reckoned with.
Springfield hosts the Bogue Chitto Bobcats at 7 p.m.
