Funeral service for Sonya Jackson, of Wesson, will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Stringer Family Chapel in Hazlehurst with burial at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Stringer Family Funeral Home.
Ms. Jackson, 16, died due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Mobile, Alabama. She grew up in Copiah County, she was a junior at Wesson High School. She attended First Baptist Church and for several years, Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors are her mother, Amie Christine Huggins Granger; step-father, James (Tex) Granger; maternal grandmother, Patty Hemphill, of Hazlehurst; paternal grandmother, Annie Jackson, of Crystal Springs; paternal grandmother, Shirley Jean Granger of Hazlehurst; maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Christine York of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Taylor Jackson of Wesson and Marcy Granger Propst of Valdosta, Georgia; brothers, Lester Parker, of Hazlehurst, and Stephen Broadwater, of Terry; and one niece, Thea Everly Propst.
