Paul and Laura Walker, of Madison, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Katelyn Waker, of Madison, to John Mooney, of Brookhaven.

He is the son of Dr. J. Spencer and Janie Mooney.

She is the granddaughter of Nancy Hollingsworth Morgan, of Lucedale, the late Rudolph Hollingsworth and Rev. Robert and Elizabeth Walker, of Booneville.

He is the grandson of Peggy Brady Pierce, of Huntsville, Alabama, the late Bruce H. Brady and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Mooney Jr., of Clarksdale.

The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Madison Central High School and is currently attending the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she is earning a degree in occupational therapy.

The prospective groom is a 2011 graduate of home education and a graduate of Mississippi State University where he received a degree in marketing. He is currently employed with Indian Cycle Fitness and Outdoor.

The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Fondren Church. A reception will follow at Old Capitol Inn at 4:30 p.m.
