Brookhaven High School junior places first in cross country championship

Adrian Lockwood, a junior at Brookhaven High School, finished in first place at the Cross Country Championships in Clinton Saturday to become the 5A boys champion.  

He finished with a time of 16:48.6 for an average mile time of 5:24.7.

The boys team finished second overall. Lockwood, Andrew Knott and Antonio Dillon made the All-State team.

Knott finished with a time of 17:02.2 and Dillon finished with a 17:31.5.

Other runners on the boys varsity team were Jacob Britt, Caleb McCreary, Jessie Gilmore and Noah Spear. 

The girls team placed third overall with Arnancy Arnold and Miyah Miller making All-State. Arnold finished with a time of 20:44.7 and Miller had a 21:08.1.

Others running for the girls team included Gracie Gray, Hannah Junkin, Jackie Madison, Bailey Pounds and Abigail Roberts.
