Wesson to visit ‘Jackets in Enterprise

The Wesson Cobras and Lady Cobras face off tonight at Enterprise, where the Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets are eager to take them on.
Each Wesson varsity team has already played one game this season, each losing to West Lincoln — the boys by six points, and the girls by a mere two-point basket.
The Cobra boys ended the 2015-16 season in the opening round of the 3A playoffs with a close loss to West Marion (85-77).
Head coach Rusty Newman hopes his team will turn those types of numbers around as the season progresses. Team leaders for the Cobras are Jontavious Smith, Kenner Bizot, Dale Thigpen and Shemar Dickerson.
Tonight’s matchup follows the season opener against Salem for both Enterprise teams.
Yellow Jackets head coach Shane Adams described Wesson as “very athletic.” “Coach Newman does a good job with them,” Adams said.
The Enterprise coach is looking for a good-sized crowd to be present for this game, and expects good things from his team.
Games begin at Enterprise at 6 p.m. with the girls’ teams. The boys play at 7:30 p.m.
The Cobras next take on West Marion Tuesday and Crystal Springs Nov. 18.
Enterprise plays McLaurin Tuesday and Raleigh Nov. 18. All games are 6 p.m. for girls and 7:30 p.m. for boys.
