John Duncan Buie   

Funeral services for John Duncan Buie, of Brookhaven, will be today, Nov. 15, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, with burial at Bethel Cemetery in the Caseyville community. Bro. Terry Wallace will officiate the service.

Mr. Buie, 54, died, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at his residence in the Caseyville community. He was born Dec. 19, 1961, in Brookhaven, to Elmer and Ruby Morris Buie. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and served in the Mississippi National Guard. He worked as a welder at American Railcar in Bude, and as a self-employed logger for more than 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents.

Survivors are his wife of 14 years, Rhonda Buie; sons, John Courtney Buie and wife Jordan, Christopher Buie and wife Courtney, David “Deke” Purdy and wife Tanya, and Jacob Purdy and wife Caroline; daughters, Ashlie Waldrop and husband Arron and Sarah Walker and fiancé Andrew Rushing;13 grandchildren, Rose, Kate, Castiel, Ryan, Ryleigh, Ryles, Ryker, Matthew, Carson, Kayleigh, Shaw, Harlie and Kynlee; parents, Elmer Lee and Ruby Morris Buie; brothers, Lee Buie and wife Rebecca, and Daniel Buie and wife Sallie; sister, Beverly Buie Jones and husband Bill and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Charles Walker, Dale Stephens, Glen Adams, James “Puttin” Smith, Ed Reid and Ricky Ratcliff.
