Funeral service for Dorothy Hughes “Mimi” Christian, of Brookhaven, will be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at noon at Hartman Funeral Home in McComb with burial in Johnston Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Randy Ray will officiate.

Visitation will also be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Christian, 92, died, Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at the Silver Cross Health and Rehab Center in Brookhaven. She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, to the late John W. and Alice Williams Hughes. She was a homemaker and a member of Brookway Baptist Church in Brookhaven. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She was known as “Mimi” to all her grandchildren and she just simply loved all people and was a person to offer the shirt off her back to help others in need. She also was an avid gardener who preferred to raise daylilies. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her loving husband, Luther W. Christian; two sons, Pete and Bruce Christian; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Colette Christian, of Madison; one daughter and son- in-law, Mary T. and Bud Yates, of Loxley, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Todd Travis, Scott Travis, Jodi Graves, Derek Christian, Seth Christian, Jacob Christian, Colette Sanford and Brooke Beard; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Derek Christian, Kenny Graves, Kendell Graves, Jacob Christian, Todd Travis and Bud Yates.
