Dorothy Mae Newton Hunter

Funeral service for Dorothy Mae Newton Hunter, of Gulfport, will be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial at Hill Crest Cemetery. Lockett-Williams Mortuary Inc. in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.  

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, the church from noon until time of service. 

Mrs. Hunter, 74, died, Monday, Nov. 14, 2016. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Areace and Robert Jones; one son, Keith Newton; five sisters, Linda Collins, Roberta Lee, Bridgette Williams, Pamela Fields and Barbara Peyton and one brother-in-law, Ronnie Bridges. 

Survivors are her three sons, Antoine (Carolyn) Newton, Ray (Paula) Newton and Robert Earl (Katrina) Hunter Jr.; two daughters, Gwendolyn (Johnny) Williams and India (DeJuan) Singleton; three brothers, Robert Earl (Jeanette) Newton, Anthony Jones and Jamie Jones, three sisters, Venetta Vaughn, Lillian Bridges and Wydell (Luther) Dixon; and three brothers-in-law, Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Fields and Moses Peyton; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
