Thanks to generous corporate donation, the Best Friends Animal Society is once again able to host a free adoption weekend with the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League.

Beginning on Black Friday and continuing through Cyber Monday, adopters will have the opportunity to bring home a dog or cat without having to pay an adoption fee through the “Pawlidayz” initiative. The unidentified company has pledged to donate a total of $1.25 million to Best Friends.

Every day across the United States, 9,000 animals are euthanized simply because they don’t have a place to call home. It is Best Friends’ goal to see 9,000 dogs and cats adopted between Friday and Monday, said BARL President Lu Becker.
