Funeral services for Albert R. Peets Jr., of Wesson, will be Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at 2 p.m. at  Decell Memorial United Methodist Church with burial in the Wesson Cemetery. Bro. Alan Randall and Bro. Carl Smith will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home  (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, from 5  until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Peets, 91, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at his residence. He was born May 26, 1935, in Lincoln County to Albert R. (Sr.) and Lucile Vardaman Peets. He was the oldest living member of Decell Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir and the men’s quartet; served his country in the US Navy; worked as a clerk/carrier for the Wesson Post Office for 45 years; and was a member of the Wesson Lion’s Club, VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, Claude Porter.

Survivors are his wife of 69 years, Anna Ruth Allen Peets; sons, Randy Peets and wife Judy, of Brookhaven, and Gary Peets and wife Peggy, of Wesson; sister, Delores Porter, of Natchez; grandchildren, Allen Peets, Derek Peets, Jeffrey Peets and Ryan Peets; great-grandchildren, Taylor Peets, Leighanna Peets, Dylan Peets, Kaden Peets, Miller Williams, Cooper Williams and Tanner Williams; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Allen Peets, Derek Peets, Jeffrey Peets, Ryan Peets, Taylor Peets and Justin Garner. Honorary pallbearers are David Derrick, Malolm Allen, Jim Lightsey and Tom Ross.
