“That’s the point that we’ll try to make each night,” he said.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. at the church on East Monticello and First streets. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. each night. The presentation by the FBC worship ministry is free and open to the public.

The concert includes several of the church’s choirs and soloists including the worship choir which usually sings on Sunday mornings, the Joy Choir of senior adults, the FBC student choir and kids’ choir. The church’s worship orchestra will accompany the vocalists, he said.

The band and choirs will perform traditional Christmas carols and hymns and audience members are encouraged to join in on the familiar s songs. “We’re going to invite the congregation to sing with us on those,” he said.

The choirs will also perform some newer Christmas songs.

Wolfe’s aim is to bless listeners with the music. “We want them to stay focused this season on what’s really important,” he said.

Several Lincoln County musicians and vocalists will be featured in the concert, including Lucy Watts, Ashley Hickman, Bill Sones Jr., Melanie Dixon and Caleb McCreary.

Pastor Greg Warnock will share a few thoughts about Christmas at the conclusion of the program.

“We just want to encourage people to stay focused on what really is important throughout this season,” Wolfe said. “It’s easy to be distracted by the pomp and circumstance that Christmas seems to demand. But it’s a season of worship for us to celebrate what God has done for us.”

The concert will be broadcast Dec. 18 and 25 at 8 p.m. on CableOne Channel 72.
