MSU Bulldogs sign four from Copiah-Lincoln

Mississippi State University signed four Copiah-Lincoln Community College athletes Wednesday, the school announced.
Deion Pope, Tommy Champion, Jaquarious Landrews and Montez Sweat inked with the Bulldogs on JUCO signing day.
“We are very excited about the new Bulldogs we signed today,” MSU coach Dan Mullen said.
Champion, the fifth-best offensive tackle in the country, is a consensus three-star prospect. He earned first team All-State honors at Co-Lin.
Landrews is a three-star prospect and was ranked No. 83 overall at the junior college level by 247Sports. He played both offense and defense at McComb High School.
Pope is rated as the second-highest JUCO defensive tackle prospect by 247Sports and the nation’s No. 24 overall prospect. He earned second team All-State honors at Co-Lin after recording 51 tackles in 2016.
Sweat, a defensive end, is listed at No. 43 on Scout.com’s Top 100 prospects. He racked up 39 tackles this year at Co-Lin.
