Generosity helps raise money for food pantries

The 13th annual Holiday Food Pantry Drive, sponsored by The Bank of Brookhaven and The Daily Leader, will come to a close at 5 p.m. today.
As of Thursday afternoon, just under $8,000 had been raised to help fund five area churches and organizations that provide food for hungry Lincoln Countians.
That’s because of the generosity of the people who have contributed to the drive, either directly or anonymously in memory or honor of a loved one.

Money raised in the food drive is divided between St. Francis of Assisi/St. Vincent de Paul, Union Hall Baptist Church, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, the Greater Hope Foundation and Bethel AME.
The final list of contributors will be published Sunday. Will you be on it?
You can give in your name, in your the name of your business or in honor or memory of someone. Donations can also be anonymous.
Donations will be accepted at both The Daily Leader and Bank of Brookhaven. Checks should be made out to Holiday Food Pantry Drive.
