Mr. and Mrs. Johnny M. Scott, of Magnolia, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Emily Latonya Scott, to Cedric Demond Sanders.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil L. Williams, of Brookhaven.
She is the granddaughter of the late Ruford and Bertha Carson, of Tylertown, and the late Byram and Mamie Scott, of Magnolia.
He is the grandson of Mary L. Nelson of Brookhaven.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Amite County High School in Liberty. She is also a graduate of Alcorn State University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and she is a graduate of Mississippi College where she received an educational specialist degree. She is currently employed by the South Pike School District in Magnolia as an assistant principal.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Brookhaven High School. He is also a graduate of Hinds Community College.
Cedric is employed by the Mississippi Adolescent Center as an active treatment technician.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at the Brookhaven FEMA Building. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony.
