Community supports area food pantries

- Photo by Donna Campbell/Five area food pantries will split $8,500 to replenish their supplies thanks to the 13th annual Holiday Food Drive, a joint effort between Bank of Brookhaven and The Daily Leader. Publisher Luke Horton, (left) and bank President Shannon Aker (far right) presented checks recently to several of the representatives, including Gwen Dyess of Union Hall Baptist Church, James Bonner of St. Francis of Assisi/St. Vincent de Paul and Floretta Williams of Greater Hope Foundation. Not represented was St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and Bethel AME.
