Lincoln County and the surrounding area will be under a winter weather advisory Friday from 6 a.m. to midnight.

A mix of sleet, freezing rain and light snow is possible, according to the National Weather Service. Light rain will begin to change to a wintry mix during the morning hours along I-20 and by the afternoon across South Mississippi. Precipitation will taper off Friday evening.

Less than a quarter-inch of sleet and ice accumulations are possible, with a dusting of snow possible mainly closer to I-20, NWS said.

Any accumulations can create slick spots on roadways, mainly on bridges and overpasses.
