Graveside services for Douglas Carey Nettles, of Brookhaven, are Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at 2:30pm at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Home Services in Brookhaven are in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Nettles, 70, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1946, to Carey Sidney Nettles and Blanche Davis Nettles. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He adored hunting, fishing, gardening and all other outdoor activities.

Preceding him in death was his parents; sister, Johnnie McCall and niece, Lori Sims.

Survivors are his wife, Cindy Nettles; son, Jamie Nettles and wife Dana; brother, Roy Nettles; sisters, Mary Blanche Cloud and Georgia Sims along with two grandchildren, Alana Nettles Reid and husband Logan, and Alecee Nettles; and one great-grandchild, Laiklyn Reid.
