Funeral services for Joe Peter Marshall Jr., of Brookhaven, are Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Heucks Retreat Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Marshall, 70, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2017. He was born April 1, 1946, to Joseph Marshall Sr. and Maude Marshall. He worked as a millwright for Delphi in Clinton and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling and traveling.

Preceding him in death were his father; and sister, Shirley Humberson.

Survivors are his mother; longtime companion, Betty Heard; sons, Melvin Marshall, Steven Heard and wife Ruthie; daughters, Sheila Verser and husband J.W., Tanya Bowen and husband Jay, Sandie Smith and husband Cary, and Shelley Linthicum and husband Daniel; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
