Dorothy ‘Dot’ Carlisle

Funeral services for Dorothy “Dot” Carlisle, of Bogue Chitto, are today, Feb. 12, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She will lie in state today, Feb. 12, 2017, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Carlisle, 82, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at Countrybrook Living Center in Brookhaven. She was born July 5, 1934. She was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she taught sunday school, G.A’s, youth, and a member of the WMU group. She was a loving wife, mom and grandmother and was affectionately known as “Maw-Dot” to everyone. She graduated with honors from Johnston Station School where she was a stand out basketball player. She loved her family, grands, great-grands, and church family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Esco and Ethel Wallace; sisters, Nelda W. Moak, Elaine W. Smith and Corinne W. Brown.

Survivors are her husband of 62 years, Henry E. Carlisle; son, Michael W. Carlisle; daughter, Cynthia A. Wallace and husband Alan; sister, Idelle Magee; nine grandchildren, Christi Terrell and husband Chris, Amanda Moak and husband Luke, Lauren Adcock and husband Forrest, Connor Carlisle, Jacob Carlisle and Dylan Carlisle; great-grandchildren, Colby Terrell, Brayton Moak, and Brylee Moak; and a host of nieces and nephews.
