Brookhaven Academy baseball crushes Prentiss

The Brookhaven Academy bats came alive Monday afternoon as they took on the Prentiss Christian Saints, using 14 hits to dominate the game on offense and took home the 20-10 win. The win moves to Cougars to 1-2 overall on the young season.
The BA Cougars (1-2) used an eight-run fifth inning to pull away from the home team Prentiss Christian Saints and cruised to the victory. Nick Ogden led the way for the Cougars with a triple, two singles and four RBIs for the game. Dylan Burt added three hits, resulting in three RBIs. Jaden Clark and Fisher Warren had a double and a single each. Clark drove in three runners and Warren drove in two as a result. Justin Burt picked up two singles. Logan Murray added a triple and O’Niell Burgos had a double.
Taylor Freeney picked up the win for the Cougars giving up just two hits and striking out two in three innings of work. Warren stuck out two batters in middle relief support while Clark picked up the save in two innings of work to close it out. Wade Watkins suffered the loss for Prentiss.
The Cougars are back in action Thursday afternoon as will they face the Parklane Pioneers in McComb with the JV game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and varsity first pitch at 6:30 p.m.
