Brookhaven: Laissez le bon temps rouler

Hundreds of adults and children turned out Saturday for “second line” parade at the “Downtown Jazzed Up” event hosted by the Brookhaven Tourism Council’s creative economy committee. The Bayou Connection Brass Band lead the parade along Cherokee Street, with organizers encouraging those watching to join in and follow as the “second line,” which is a New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition. The evening ended with a street dance at East Cherokee Street and South Railroad Avenue with music by The Tyler Bridge Band.
