Marcus Homer Lea

Funeral services for Marcus Homer Lea, of Bogue Chitto, will be Monday, March 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Montgomery Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be today, March 5, 2017, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and Monday, March 6, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Mr. Lea, 77, died surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born July 8, 1939, to Ivo A. Lea and Noami Kleinpeter Lea.
Mr. Lea served in the Army National Guard for six years and then served as a police officer for the Brookhaven Police Department. He retired as a captain after 28 years of service. He also was a member of Montgomery Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, I. H. Lea and Roscoe Lea; and a sister, Ivolene Coker.
Survivors are his wife of 58 wonderful years, Kay Reeves Lea; son, Bruce H. Lea and wife Paula; daughter, Penny Lea Watson and husband Joseph; two brothers, Roland Lea and Teunnison Lea; and a sister, Deloris Greer; two grandchildren, Marcus Brent Lea and Joseph Reeve Watson; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family relatives.
Memorials may be made to Montgomery Baptist Church Building Fund.
