Funeral services for Mary Smarr McKown, of Hickory Grove, South Caroline are Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Rev. Ed Reynolds and Rev. Eugene Oldham will officiate the services. Bratton Funeral Home in New York is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, March 22, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. the funeral home.

Ms. McKown, 80 , died Monday, March 20, 2017, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Wilburn Smarr and Christine Bratton Smarr. She was the widow of Mason McKown and a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother Earl Smarr, and her grandson Steven Ferrell.

Survivors are her son, Jeff McKown, of Hickory Grove, South Carolina; daughters, Nancy Starcher, of Midland, North Carolina, and Barbara Rayborn, of Jayess; brothers, Harold Smarr, and Glenn Smarr, Neil Smarr; grandchildren, Beth Knight, and Okfana Starcher; and great- grandchildren, Alivia Leary, Alaina Knight and Tessa Knight.
