Ole Brook tennis suffers first loss

The Brookhaven High School tennis team suffered their first loss of the season Tuesday afternoon, dropping the overall match against Brandon High School by a score of 5-2.

The two wins for Ole Brook came from Daniel Panzica in singles play, winning in straight sets against Garland Bryant of Brandon 6-0, 6-0. The other win came in doubles as Will Moak and Dalton Fortado defeated Kennedy Guest and Thomas Barnett of Brandon in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

In girls’ singles, Sarah Grace Evans of Brookhaven fell to Laura Alive Lea of Brandon in straight sets 6-3, 7-6.

In the other boys’ doubles match, John David West and Brandon Owen of Brandon defeated Michael Haynes Hutson and Cooper Patterson of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

In the first girls’ doubles match, Caroline Van and Maddie O’Brien of Brandon defeated Alice Anne Walker and Mackenzie Jackson of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. In the second girls’ doubles match, Sarah Cline and Kate Bass of Brandon took care of Meredith Bozeman and Abbigail Jones of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-3, 6-0.

In mixed doubles, Laine Marler and John Altman of Brandon defeated Lea Allen and Braxton Wallis of Brookhaven in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
