Funeral services for Floyd Marley Grice Jr., of Bogue Chitto, are today, March 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto with burial at the church cemetery. Bro. Huey Moak and Bro. Hal Hatten will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation was held Monday, March 27, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue today, March 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Mr. Grice, 74, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson with his loving family by his side. He was born Feb. 25, 1943, in Lincoln County to Floyd Marley Grice Sr. and Josie Laura Wilson Grice. He enjoyed music, golf and horses. He was retired as a minister of music after serving 32 years at various locations in Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Vickie Grice Phillips; and brother, Robert Allen Grice.

Survivors are his wife of 53 and one half years, Shirley Ann Crosby Grice of Bogue Chitto; daughters, Sherry Allen and husband Rusty, Christy Gunther and husband David, both of Bogue Chitto, Kellie Keene and husband Dann, of Brookhaven; son-in-law Maxie Phillips; grandchildren, Justin Phillips, Coltin Phillips and wife Hayley Beth, Mallory Allen, Cullen Keene, Tanner Gunther and Carson Keene; great-grandchildren, Annaliese and Brantley Phillips; sisters Hilda Hart and Rebecca Moak; brothers, Paul Grice and Charles “Fletcher” Grice; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
