Wesson Lady Cobras dominate Natchez 15-0

The Wesson Lady Cobras added another win to their record against the Lady Bulldogs of Natchez Saturday afternoon in a quick three-inning game with a final score of 15-0.
The Lady Cobras packed six runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning after loading the bases with walks and singles by Anna Claire Crow and Amber Brinson.
Wesson pitcher Brinson struck out three of four batters in the top of the second inning to put the Lady Cobras back on offense. Wesson tacked on seven more runs with hits by Crow, Arie Douglas, Katie McSweyn, Nikki Guess and Shelbi Maxwell.
The third inning for Natchez flew by with McSweyn getting an out at third base and then assisting with an out to first baseman Harmoni Ashley. The bottom of the third inning ended the game when Brinson hit an infield home run deep to left field to bring in two runs to up the score to 15-0.
Brinson picked up the win with six strikeouts from the mound. Other hitters for the Lady Cobras were Guess with a triple, McSweyn with a double and two singles each for Crow and Douglas. Brooke Jones and Maxwell both hit a single each.
For the Lady Bulldogs, pitcher Jaylin Flower gave up four walks. The top hitter for Natchez was Destiny Trask with a single.
