Funeral services for Eddie Lee Hennington, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at the Wesson Cemetery.

Visitation is also Saturday, April 8, 2017, from noon until time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hennington, 83, died Thursday, April 6, 2017.

He was born April 15, 1933. He served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years and was a supervisor for nuclear power. He received numerous honors and awards during both his military and civilian careers. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and enjoyed car and tractor auctions.

His most enjoyable pastime was working out of his shop that he both built and constructed himself. As a mechanical hobbyist, he loved working and repairing old motors and cars.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde and Velma Hennington.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Mae Hennington; daughters, Donna Dixon and husband Ken, and Valerie Lo; sister, Betty Lou Leggett; eight grandchildren, Mindy Fenstermaker and husband Kyle, Jessica Clark and husband Tony, Lee Jones and wife Brittney, Will Dixon and Aubrey Lo; and four great-grandchildren, Gabe Clark, Zac Clark, Aidan Fenstermaker and Kayleigh Jones.
