Barbara Lynn “Bobbie” West

Funeral services for Barbara Lynn “Bobbie” West, of Smithdale, will be Monday, April 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb with burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Bro. Thomas McTaggart and Sister Dell Ratcliff will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017, from noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. West, 63, died April 6, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. West was born November 19, 1953 in Brookhaven. She was the daughter of the late, William J. “Pete” and Eula Mae Halford Davis.

Bobbie was a homemaker and a member of Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven. She had previously worked for Ed’s Cleaners in Brookhaven for many years and the Video Store in Summit. She loved her family, friends and floating the Bogue Chitto River. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, “Big John.” She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play ball and she loved bowling. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, John Carroll Smith; one sister, Peggy Ann Brown and her husband, Clyde Brown; one brother, Jackie Davis; and a sister in-law, Jewell Davis.

Survivors are her husband, John West of Smithdale; three sons, Jeffery (Darlene) Smith of Jayess, Steven Smith of Smithdale and Stephen (Lacy) West of Bogue Chitto; two daughters, Kristi (Chris) Willoughby of Summit and Melissa Nicholson of McComb; one brother, Jimmy Davis of Brookhaven; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; a lifelong friend, Janise Davis of Bogue Chitto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to the staff of the MS Cancer Institute and to Travis Springer with Camellia Estates.

Pallbearers will be Keith Brown, Junior “JR” Shafer, Devin McCullough, Timmy Brown, Robert West, Zach LeBlanc, Blake Brown and Jason McCullough.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her family and friends.
