A Brookhaven woman is accused of shoplifting nearly $800 worth of small miscellaneous items from the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Brookhaven.
Kasey Nations, 30, of 1870 Hilltop Lane, was arrested Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on charges of shoplifting.
Brookhaven Police Department Chief Bobby Bell said Wal-Mart store management reported the woman got into an altercation with company personnel on the inside of the store.
Store managers held Nations outside of the store until the arrival of BPD. Bell said she became very loud and aggressive again with both management and officers.
Bell said there was no room to book Nations at the county jail at the time of the incident. The Lincoln County jail designates 10 beds for female prisoners, Sheriff Steve Rushing said. Nine were occupied and the 10th is kept open for felony charges. Shoplifting is a misdemeanor.
Bell said Nations has been released on her own recognizance and a promise to show up for her court date.
