Every day a ‘day of prayer’

It’s encouraging to see the people of God praying. Thursday’s National Day of Prayer events attracted dozens of people despite the rain and cool temps.
The day started with an event at King’s Daughters Medical Center and concluded with prayer at the government complex.
The two events were part of the national service that was expected to draw 2 million people in 30,000 locations around the country, said Steve Jackson with the Lincoln County Baptist Association.
“The purpose is pure and simple,” Jackson said. “People of all faiths, gathering to pray for their nation.”
Our nation desperately needs prayer. Our states, counties and cities do, too. We might all be better off if we considered every day a “day of prayer.”
