Marlin and Cindy Bass of Summit announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brooklyn Bass, to Chance Schmidt.

He is the son of Russell and Pam Schmidt of Summit.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Loretta Hall, the late John Henry Hall, the late Martin Bass and Mary Louise Bass.

Miss Bass is a 2011 graduate of North Pike High School. She is a 2015 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in health care marketing. She is currently employed with Camellia Hospice as a business development representative.

The prospective groom is the grandson of James and Joyce Dye, and the late Clarence Schmidt and Helen Schmidt. 

Mr. Schmidt is a 2010 graduate of Parklane Academy, and a 2014 graduate of LSU-Alexandria with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently employed with Schmidt’s Sweeping and Lawn Service.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, May 27, 2017, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb. A reception will follow at Jolimar in Summit.
