PRENTISS (AP) — An attempted murder-suicide in Jefferson Davis County has left one person dead and two injured in a shooting about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Strickland says a domestic dispute between Lee Sandifer and his 47-year-old girlfriend, Christine Lewis, led to the shooting. He says Sandifer shot both Lewis and the couple’s 10-year-old son in the head before shooting himself.

The coroner’s office sent Sandifer’s body for an autopsy. Lewis was treated and released from an area hospital. The couple’s son is in critical condition.
