Absentee voting ends Saturday in Brookhaven and Wesson

Saturday is last day to vote absentee for the general elections in Brookhaven and Wesson.

Brookhaven City Hall will be open at the Lincoln County Government Complex from 8 a.m. to noon. Wesson Town Hall will be open those hours as well.

Voters can call either office to request absentee ballots for their election to be mailed but must be notarized and returned by mail by 5 p.m. Monday. Ballots cannot be hand delivered.

Election Day is Tuesday. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Brookhaven, voters in the general election can choose between Republican, Democrat and independent candidates, said Lincoln County Circuit Clerk Dustin Bairfield.

In Wesson, all candidates run as independent.

The Brookhaven Board of Aldermen and the Wesson Board of Aldermen will both have their regular meetings Tuesday. Brookhaven’s board will meet in the supervisor’s board room at the Lincoln County Government Complex at 6:30 p.m. since voting will be underway in the city’s boardroom.

Wesson aldermen will meet across the street from Town Hall at the Wesson Public Library at 6 p.m., said Town Clerk Linda Dykes.
