Funeral services for Charles Vernon (C.V., Chuck) Rushing, of Brookhaven, are Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Southway Baptist Church with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be today, June 3, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to service at the church.

Mr. Rushing, 62, died June 1, 2017. He was born April 4, 1955, in Brookhaven. He was a graduate of Brookhaven High School and Co-Lin. He was an avid fisherman and loved singing and sharing the gospel through song. He loved watching his grandson, Reese, play baseball and enjoyed all aspects of the game. He was also looking forward to watching Maggie Rose play softball in the fall.

Preceding him in death were his parents; Horace and Blanche Rushing; brother, Elmo Rushing; father-in- law, Charles K. Collinsworth; and brother-in-law, Steve K. Collinsworth.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Sandra Collinsworth Rushing; daughter, Stephanie Rushing Reynaud and husband Kendal; two grandchildren, Reese Nathaniel Reynaud and Maggie Rose Reynaud; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith Rushing; niece, Debbie Rushing; nephew, Lane Rushing and wife Judy; sister and brother-in-law, Susan C. Allen and husband Reggie; sister-in-law, Cindy P. Collinsworth along with a host of nieces, nephews and a special friend, Melissa Ritchey.

Memorials may be made to Southway Baptist Church Building Fund or Brookhaven High School Baseball Program.
