Funeral services for Billie Estelle Artman Goss, of Brookhaven, were held Monday, June 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brookhaven with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park. Harrigill Funeral Home in Brookhaven was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the rosary service at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Goss, 90, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at her residence. She was born March 31, 1927, in Winona, to William D. Artman Sr. and Estelle Moore Artman. She was a housewife and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She was known for her kindness, unconditional love to all those she encountered, most notably her “Southern Belle” accent, along with numerous tender qualities. Many have expressed that she often made you feel as though we were in a kinder, gentler time. Her life is a testimony to the faith and love she carried in her heart, and her legacy will live on through her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 52 years, H.B. Goss Jr.; son-in-law, Joey Smith; sister-in-law, Berniece McLeod; brother-in-law, James Goss; nephew, Bobby Parkerson; and niece, Cindy Goss Kiser.

Survivors are her six children, Richard Goss and wife Jennifer, David Goss, Thomas G. Goss, Ken Goss and wife Rita, all of Brookhaven, Kathy M. Goss and Mary Ann Eldridge, of Scott, Louisiana, Susan Smith, of Brookhaven; two brothers, Charles Artman and wife Martha, of Florence, and Dan Artman and wife Janet, of Gluckstadt; sisters-in-law, Mary Loise Parkerson, of Greenville; cousins, Joyce Miller, of Jackson and Stella Gibson, of Vicksburg; 11 grandchildren, Chris Goss and wife Mandy, Ben Goss and wife Morgan, Clint Goss and wife Mary, Matt Goss and Susan Fowler, Amanda G Sokolich and husband Jason, Garrett Smith and wife Callie, Leannda Goss, Ashley Goss, Kevin Goss, Elaina Jo Smith and Emily Goss; 11 great-grandchildren, Ico Sokolich, Colby Goss, Kaleb Lawrence, Mckinley Goss, Jaylynn Goss, Corey I. Goss, Dave Goss, Eden Bowen, Clare Goss, Annie Goss, Peter Goss, and two on the way, Josie Caroline Smith (Sept. 2017), and Baby Goss (Oct. 2017); nephews and nieces, James R. Parkerson, Steven Artman, Jeff Artman, Michael Artman, Ronnie Brooks, Angie Artman, Jackie Brooks, Kay Goss Tuck. 

Pallbearers were Chris Goss, Clint Goss, Matt Goss, Garrett Smith, Steven Artman and Michael Artman.

Honorary Pallbearers were Ben Goss, Kevin Goss, Jeff Artman, Jimmy Parkerson and Ronnie Brooks.

Special Care Givers, Veronica Lawson, Brenda Evans and the loving church family and friends. The Family would like to thank the staff of Compassus Hospice for their care.
