4-year-old girl found dead in mobile home fire
HAZLEHURST (AP) — A 4-year-old Mississippi girl is dead after she became trapped inside a burning mobile home.
WAPT-TV reports Copiah County firefighters responding to a call Sunday night found a mobile home engulfed in flames. Authorities said the homeowner’s wife and a 7-year-old girl escaped. But authorities say 4-year-old Jordyn Barnes perished in the flames.
Christine Bass, the homeowner’s mother, said young Jordyn could be seen knocking on a window, but then ran away from the spot before firefighters could get to her.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
