Funeral services for Proby Castilaw, of Brookhaven, are Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Little Bahala Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Castilaw, 88, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at Diversacare in Brookhaven. He was born July 30, 1928, to Leon “Lon” Castilaw and Laura Case Castilaw. He was a lifetime member of Little Bahala Baptist Church and was retired from Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to coon hunt and look at his timber. He also loved music and singing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Peggy B. Castilaw; daughters, Carolyn Logan and Laurie Burnett; brothers, James “Jim” Castilaw and Jesse “Jack” Castilaw; and sisters, Annie Mae Durr and Grace Applewhite.

Survivors are his daughters, Angie Spencer and husband Bruce and Iris Waldrop and husband Doyle; son-in-law, Butch Logan; 10 grandchildren, Jason Hedgepeth, Mindy H. Smith, Mallory L. Schneider, Leigh B. Wilson, Lindsey B. Davis, Trey Waldrop, Carly Waldrop, Casey Waldrop, Jessie C. Stringer and Grant Spencer; 23 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
