Funeral services for James Gabriel “Gabe” Terrell, of West Lincoln, are Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial to follow at Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Trent Bilbo will officiate the services.
Visitation will be today, July 14, 2017 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Terrell, 73, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with his loving family by his side. He was born July 12, 1944, in McComb, to Clyde E. Terrell and Mildred Lewis Terrell. He enjoyed coaching, watching his grandchildren play sports, golfing, raising cattle and spending time with his family and friends. He was a Mississippi All-Star coach for boys and girls basketball in 1977 and 1989. He had a tremendous impact on the players he coached over the years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived life to the fullest.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Linda Kay Anding Terrell.
Survivors are his best friend and fiancée, Mary Jane; son, James Christopher Terrell and wife Christi, of Bogue Chitto; daughter, Allison Terrell Tyler and husband Bradley, of Kosciusko; sister, Deloris Terrell, of Vicksburg; stepmother, Clara Terrell and stepbrother Gary Quinn, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandchildren, Colby Terrell, Kayden Tyler and Hayes Tyler; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gabriel Terrell’s name may be made to The American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
