Rain contributes to 3-vehicle wreck in Copiah County

Two parked cars were struck by an 18 wheeler Thursday afternoon in Copiah County. Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Corporal Eric Henry says is happened on I-55 near mile marker 64 at around 2:30 p.m.

Henry says a Toyota SUV and a Toyota Camry were stopped and parked on the shoulder of because of heavy rain.

That’s when a southbound 18 wheeler veered of the roadway and struck both vehicles.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital in Hazlehurst with injuries. The driver of the Camry was not injured.
