GULFPORT (AP) — Two people were injured after a pickup truck ran off an exit ramp on Interstate 10 and hit a parked 18-wheeler.

News outlets report the accident occurred on Saturday at about 6 p.m.

Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan says it took about 20 minutes to cut the truck open and get the injured man out. He says the driver of the pickup truck was flown to a trauma center in Alabama. The other person was transported to a local hospital.

The ramp on I-10 was closed for about 30 minutes as the Mississippi Highway Patrol cleared the area.
